During my commute.
My favorite overpass:
Something about the urbanity of it.
Unforgiving steel girders,
The utility of its lines,
contrasts nicely with nature.
Evergreens and dead wildflowers sprout from its armpits,
like miniature Gardens of Eden.
My eyes drift to the sky,
the way the trees scratch it with their spindly, bare branches.
The colors are cool, soothing, Scandinavian.
Cream, iridescent lavender, olive green.
I sigh, transported.
