Who am I? That’s a good question.
I believe I’ve found the answer to this fascinating query, but time will tell.
I am a hopeless romantic. In all things, I look for the beautiful, sentimental, and meaningful. I am a writer of romance fiction, but I hesitate to place myself firmly in the romance genre.
Here’s why: while all of my writing must have an element of romance (else I parish in a desert of logic), I also must have adventure, mystery, and fantasy. I can’t help myself. I write myself into an epic every single time.
This is why I call my genre Quest Romance. My plot line follows a traditional romance- the romance must be the central nervous system of the plot and the characters must have a happy and satisfying ending. Always.
Then I veer off. I take my characters on journeys to the unknown. History, archaeology, art, fashion…the list goes on. The more complex and detailed, the better. Throw in a great whodunit, a dastardly villain, and an impending cataclysmic event, and you have one of my novels.
I’m also quite wordy, if you haven’t noticed. I love great, well developed characters with quirky personalities. I love comic relief, deep romantic connections, angst and anticipation, and most of all, an entertaining tale.
Take a peek into my world…
